Turning Spreadsheets into Dashboards: Where to Start
Most companies asking for a dashboard don't actually have a data shortage — they have data scattered across a dozen spreadsheets that nobody has time to open and reconcile before a Monday meeting.
The right starting point isn't the flashiest dashboard technology — it's picking the two or three decisions your management actually makes every week (which orders are late, which customers haven't paid, which product line is underperforming) and building the dashboard backward from those decisions.
That focus matters because a dashboard that tries to show everything ends up used by no one — the useful ones are narrow, load fast, and answer one question clearly at a glance.
If your team is still assembling reports manually each week, tell us what decision that report is supposed to support, and we'll recommend the simplest dashboard that actually replaces it — not the most elaborate one.
